DNS Auto Setup

Select a VPS domain and apply DNS records automatically in one click.

Language: Danish English

Quick start (for beginners)

Step 1: Choose your domain in "Domain from VPS".

Step 2: Enter your server IPv4 in "Server IPv4" (this is your main A record).

Step 3: Keep default settings if unsure, then click "Apply Automatic DNS Settings".

Tip: DNS changes may take from a few minutes up to 24 hours to propagate globally.

The domain you want to configure (example: mysite.com).
Main website IP. Creates A records for root domain.
How long resolvers cache DNS. 3600 (1 hour) is a safe default.
Used only when "Include IPv6 AAAA" is enabled.
Where email is delivered. Keep "mail" unless your provider gave another host.
Lower number = higher priority. Default 10 is common.
Helps prevent spoofed email. Start with Soft if unsure.
Start with "none" until mail is verified, then tighten policy.
Default behavior is overwrite with new DNS data. Enable this only when you explicitly want to preserve custom records (e.g. api, app, shop).
Paste either the full p=... value or just the raw DKIM key. Selector is usually "dkim" or "default".
Used only for automatic DKIM loading. You can also set env vars MAILCOW_API_URL and MAILCOW_API_KEY.
Quick record explanation
A record: points your domain to server IPv4.
AAAA record: same as A record, but for IPv6.
CNAME (www): makes www.yourdomain follow your main domain.
MX: tells the internet where incoming email should be delivered.
SPF + DMARC: helps prevent spoofed/fake emails.
CAA: controls which SSL CAs may issue certificates.
Rollback (restore backup)
Choose a previous backup and click restore to roll back to an earlier DNS zone state.
Needs write permission to zone directory and permission to reload named/bind. If automatic reload fails, run reload manually from shell.
